Disposable Food Packaging Wholesale: Compliant Single-Use Range
Direct Eco Green manufactures disposable food packaging for take-out, delivery, events and foodservice operators in the US and Canada: containers, plates, cups, cutlery, straws, napkins and bags. Single-use packaging is still essential for hygiene and speed of service, but the rules on what it can be made of have changed. This page maps the range to each use and to the compliance points buyers must check.
Disposable food packaging is packaging designed for one use, to hold, carry and serve food before it is sent to recycling, composting or waste collection. Direct Eco Green manufactures single-use ranges in molded sugarcane bagasse, kraft and paperboard, wood, bamboo and palm leaf, made without fluorinated grease-proofing and outside the materials banned by Canada's Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations. Each order is produced factory-direct, with on-site quality control.

Disposable materials compared
Direct Eco Green produces single-use packaging in five main material families; each has a different barrier and end of life.
| Material | Strengths | Limits | End of life (qualified) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Molded bagasse | Hot and oily food, rigid, no film needed | Matte, fibrous surface | Commercially compostable where industrial facilities accept it |
| Kraft + PLA lining | Print surface, grease barrier | Not curbside recyclable in most US programs | Commercially compostable where accepted, if certified |
| Paperboard + PE lining | Highest liquid resistance | Contains a plastic film | Accepted in some recycling programs; check locally |
| Wood and bamboo | Sturdy cutlery, natural look | Not for every utensil shape | Depends on local collection |
| Palm leaf | Premium event plates | Natural variation in color | Commercially compostable where facilities accept it |
PFAS laws and disposable food packaging
State PFAS laws now apply to most disposable food packaging sold in the US. Intentionally added PFAS are banned in food packaging in New York (Dec 31, 2022), California (Jan 1, 2023), Washington (phased from Feb 2023 / May 2024), Vermont (Jul 1, 2023), Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland and Minnesota (Jan 1, 2024), Rhode Island (Jul 1, 2024) and Hawaii (Dec 31, 2024). In February 2024 the FDA announced that PFAS grease-proofing substances are no longer being sold for food-contact use in the US.
On Direct Eco Green disposables, the grease barrier comes from PLA film, PE film, an aqueous coating or the molded fiber itself, not from fluorinated treatments. Ask for the factory's PFAS declaration with your quote.
Canada's single-use plastics ban and disposables
Direct Eco Green's disposable cutlery, straws and containers for Canada are made of fiber, wood, bamboo or bagasse, which are outside the Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations (SOR/2022-138). The regulations ban checkout bags, cutlery, stir sticks, straws, ring carriers and foodservice ware made from expanded polystyrene, PVC, oxo-degradable plastic and black plastic made with carbon black. Manufacture and import bans began December 20, 2022; sale bans began December 20, 2023. The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the underlying "toxic" listing on January 30, 2026, so the rules remain in force. See the single-use tableware category for compliant options.
Compostable and recyclable claims on single-use items
Single-use packaging attracts the most environmental claims, and the FTC Green Guides require each one to be qualified. Use "commercially compostable where industrial composting facilities accept it" rather than "biodegradable", and back it with ASTM D6400 (compostable plastics) or ASTM D6868 (compostable coatings on paper and fiber) certification, usually through BPI, or CAN/BNQ 0017-088 in Canada. Composting access varies by city. Tell Direct Eco Green which certification your market requires and it confirms, before you order, which factory reference can document it. In California, SB 343 restricts "recyclable" claims and the chasing-arrows symbol.
Ordering disposables factory-direct
Direct Eco Green manufactures single-use packaging through audited factories in Asia and Europe and consolidates containers, cups, cutlery and napkins into one shipment. Known MOQs: 10,000 pieces for bagasse plates, trays and bowls and for paper cups and paper bowls (per format); 20,000 pieces for fry, wrap and kebab packaging. Other MOQs depend on material, size and printing and are stated in your quote, sent within 48 hours. Send your list to start.
Frequently asked questions

The grease barrier on Direct Eco Green disposable packaging comes from PLA, PE, aqueous coatings or molded fiber, not fluorinated treatments. The factory's PFAS declaration can be supplied with your quote.
