Bagasse plates and trays with clear lids for catering
Direct Eco Green produces three families of bagasse tableware with matching PET lids: round plates, square plates and trays. The fiber base handles hot and cold food, while the clear lid protects the dish and shows it off at buffets, receptions and grab-and-go counters.
- Round bagasse plate + PET lid — for plated meals, desserts and platters.
- Square bagasse plate + PET lid — three sizes, from individual portions to sharing plates.
- Bagasse tray + PET lid — for sandwiches, pastries, finger food and catering assortments.
The bases are also available without lids. The bagasse part can go in the microwave, but the PET lid must be removed first.

Materials, PET lids and end of life
Bagasse is the fibrous residue left after sugarcane is crushed for its juice; the cellulose fiber is recovered and molded into food-contact tableware. The bagasse Direct Eco Green uses is natural fiber, without pesticides or toxic additives.
Be clear with your customers that this is a two-material pack:
- Bagasse base — made from renewable sugarcane fiber and commercially compostable where industrial composting facilities accept it; access varies by city.
- PET lid — a transparent, shock-resistant plastic, recyclable where facilities accept PET. It is not compostable.
- Separate before disposal — the PET lid must be removed from the fiber base, otherwise neither stream accepts the item.
The grease barrier comes from the molded fiber itself, not from fluorinated treatments; ask for the factory's PFAS declaration with your quote.
Compliance for the US and Canada
Intentionally added PFAS are banned in food packaging in New York, California, Washington, Vermont, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Hawaii, so document PFAS-free status for every reference you sell. If you plan to call the base "compostable", buyers will expect certification to ASTM D6400 or ASTM D6868, typically through BPI, or CAN/BNQ 0017-088 in Canada — tell us which certification your market requires and we confirm, before you order, which factory reference can document it. The PET lid needs its own wording: the FTC Green Guides and California SB 343 restrict "recyclable" claims to what facilities actually accept. In Canada, bagasse and PET are outside the problematic plastics targeted by the Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations.
Custom sizes and private label
Direct Eco Green produces custom sizes and private label packing for catering and retail programs. Complete your range with bagasse plates and trays without lids, bagasse cups and sauce pots or bagasse cutlery in the same shipment. Samples are available before mass production.
Why buy bagasse tableware factory-direct from Direct Eco Green
Direct Eco Green is a manufacturer and sourcing partner, not a distributor: we work with audited partner factories in Asia and Europe, carry out quality control on site in Vietnam and consolidate several product lines into one shipment. For high-volume catering and food-service buyers, that means a lower total cost of ownership than re-sold stock and tableware built to your specification.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for bagasse plates and trays with PET lids?
The minimum order for Direct Eco Green bagasse plates and trays with PET lids is 10,000 pieces per reference. Custom sizes are available, and the price depends on format and volume.
Is the PET lid compostable?
No. The PET lid on bagasse plates and trays is a recyclable plastic where facilities accept PET, not a compostable material. Remove the lid and dispose of it separately from the bagasse base.
Can bagasse plates go in the microwave?
Bagasse plates and trays can be used in the microwave, but only after the PET lid is removed. The bagasse base handles both hot and cold food.
Are Direct Eco Green bagasse plates PFAS-free?
The grease barrier on Direct Eco Green bagasse plates comes from the molded fiber itself, not from fluorinated treatments. Request the factory's PFAS declaration with your quote to document compliance with state PFAS laws.
Are the bagasse bases certified compostable?
Compostability certification for bagasse bases depends on the factory reference. Tell Direct Eco Green whether you need ASTM D6400, ASTM D6868 through BPI or CAN/BNQ 0017-088, and we confirm which reference can document it before you order.
