Materials and end of life
Direct Eco Green bamboo cutlery is made from natural bamboo with no plastic coating, and the set pouch is kraft paper. That combination lets you remove plastic from the take-out bag entirely.
When you communicate end of life, keep it accurate under the FTC Green Guides: bamboo cutlery can be composted where facilities or programs accept wood and bamboo items, and access varies by city. Avoid unqualified "biodegradable" claims; if you want to print "compostable", tell us which certification your market requires (for example BPI / ASTM D6400 in the US or CAN/BNQ 0017-088 in Canada) and we confirm, before you order, which factory reference can document it. Compliance for the US and Canada
In Canada, the Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations (SOR/2022-138) ban plastic cutlery: manufacture and import since December 20, 2022 and sale since December 20, 2023. The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the underlying rules on January 30, 2026, so they remain in force. Bamboo cutlery is outside the ban and is one of the standard alternatives for Canadian restaurants. In the US, ask for food-contact safe documentation for your reference with the quote.
