Choosing material and print for the look you want
- Brown kraft with one or two dark colors gives an artisanal, natural look; light colors and fine photos lose contrast on brown.
- White kraft or ivory board reproduces bright colors and full-color images best.
- Corrugated board (pizza and burger boxes) suits bold logos and simple graphics.
- Wood is branded by heat marking rather than ink.

What to print, and what not to print, in the US and Canada
Printed claims are regulated as marketing claims. Before approving artwork, check these points with your team.
- FSC label: Direct Eco Green can supply paper and board under FSC license C204557 with FSC Mix or FSC Recycled labels.
- Compostable logos (BPI or similar) only on references certified to ASTM D6400 or ASTM D6868, or CAN/BNQ 0017-088 in Canada; Direct Eco Green confirms which reference can document it before you order.
- Recyclable and chasing-arrows symbols: California SB 343 restricts them to materials that meet state recyclability criteria.
- FTC Green Guides: qualify every environmental claim ("commercially compostable where facilities exist"), and avoid unqualified "biodegradable".
- PFAS-free statements: base them on the factory's PFAS declaration, which you can request with the quote.
