Tin box shapes for food and gifts
Direct Eco Green produces lidded tinplate boxes in four standard configurations, plus custom shapes from new molds. A tin is one of the few packaging formats customers keep and reuse for years, which makes it both a brand carrier and a durable container.
- Square tin box — a versatile format for tea, candy and gifts.
- Square cookie tin — a square format designed for biscuits and cookies.
- Rectangular tin box — for chocolate bars, coffee and assortments.
- Round tin box — the classic shape for tea, sweets and seasonal gifts.
The tins suit tea, coffee, chocolate, cookies, sweets, sugar, pasta, rice and non-food gifts. For a product that shows through the lid, see our tin boxes with window.

Materials, food contact and end of life
Direct Eco Green tin boxes are made of tinplate — steel coated with tin — and are food-contact grade, so cookies, tea or candy can go directly into the tin. A tin is a mono-material pack: body and lid are the same metal, with no plastic or paper layer to separate.
- Reuse: a sturdy lidded tin can be refilled and reused many times, which is its strongest environmental argument.
- Recycling: tinplate is recyclable where steel packaging is collected; check local programs before printing a recycling message.
- Waste reduction: a durable tin replaces repeated single-use packs for products bought regularly, such as tea or coffee.
Compliance for the US and Canada
For tins that hold food, ask for the factory's food-contact declaration with your quote so you can document that the tin and its inner coating are food-contact safe. Environmental wording should stay specific: the FTC Green Guides expect reusable, recyclable or recycled-content claims to be substantiated, and California SB 343 limits "recyclable" claims and the chasing-arrows symbol to materials meeting state criteria. Mineral-oil-free inks are available on request — ask when you send your artwork. Metal tins are not covered by Canada's Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations, which address specific plastic items.
Custom printing and private label
Direct Eco Green prints tins in CMYK, PMS spot colors, CMYK + PMS, or a custom printing process, so your colors, patterns and logo come out exactly as designed. New molds can be opened for a signature shape. Tins combine well with cardboard gift boxes and other gift packaging in one shipment. Samples are available before mass production.
Why buy tin boxes factory-direct from Direct Eco Green
Direct Eco Green is a manufacturer and sourcing partner, not a distributor: we work with audited partner factories in Asia and Europe, run on-site quality control and consolidate tins with other packaging into one shipment. For high-volume and private label orders, that means printing to your exact color standard and a lower total cost of ownership than stock tins.
Send your shapes, sizes, quantities and artwork through the quote form to receive a tailored quote within 48 hours.
