How paper tubes are made, and end of life
Direct Eco Green cardboard tubes are built from several layers of paper and board that are bonded with adhesive and rolled into a hard, hollow cylinder, then wrapped in kraft, colored or printed paper. Board can be supplied FSC-certified under license FSC C204557.
Paper tubes are mostly fiber and are recyclable where facilities exist, but laminations, gloss finishes and metal or plastic components can complicate recycling. Ask which finish keeps your tube closest to a single-material paper pack, and avoid unqualified claims.
Claims and compliance for the US and Canada
For paper tubes sold in the US, the FTC Green Guides require recyclable and recycled-content claims to be specific and substantiated, and California SB 343 limits the chasing-arrows symbol and "recyclable" claims to materials meeting state criteria. FSC labeling is available for paper grades under license C204557. Mineral-oil-free inks are available on request — ask when you send your artwork. If the tube will hold food such as tea or chocolate, say so in your request so a food-contact safe inner layer is specified.
